Magnetic separation tube usage method

The magnetic separation tube is essential laboratory equipment for magnetic separation plants. It is primarily used for magnetic analysis of strongly magnetic ores. For example, it can analyze the content of magnetite in iron ore raw materials, the concentration of strongly magnetic components in intermediate products or tailings from beneficiation plants, etc. Currently, there are two main types of magnetic separation tubes in use: φ30mm and φ50mm, both with electromagnetic systems. The magnetic field intensity is adjustable, ranging from 0 to 250kA/m.Operation of magnetic separation tube:

  1. Take 8-30g representative ore sample, place it in a small beaker, add water to moisten and set aside.

  2. Turn on the water supply pipe to fill water into the glass tube. When the water level exceeds the magnetic pole head, adjust the water flow and drainage from the rubber tube at the lower end of the glass tube to maintain a dynamic balance, stabilizing the water level about 10cm above the pole head.

  3. Close the switch, make the glass tube swing, and apply the required exciting current simultaneously. Place a tailings collection bucket at the discharge end of the glass tube, then start feeding the ore. Use a rubber bulb to slowly flush the ore pulp from the beaker into the magnetic separation tube.

  4. After feeding is complete, let the magnetic separation tube continue running for 3-5 minutes. When the water in the tube is no longer turbid, close the water supply pipe and drain the water from the tube. Then pinch the discharge rubber tube, open the water supply pipe to fill the tube with water again, and drain the water. Repeat this process 2-3 times until the tailings are completely flushed out.

  5. Remove the tailings bucket and replace it with a concentrate bucket. Turn off the magnet, open the water supply pipe to thoroughly wash the concentrate. The separation process is complete.

  6. Dehydrate and dry the concentrate and tailings separately, weigh them, take samples for laboratory analysis, and finally perform the necessary calculations.
