Introduction of magnetic tube separator

A Davis Tube is a laboratory instrument designed to separate small samples of strongly magnetic ores into strongly magnetic and weakly magnetic fractions. It has become a standard laboratory equipment used for the assessment of the separability of magnetic ores by low-intensity magnetic separators. It was developed in 1921 and  no significant changes have been made in its design since then. The separator consists of an inclined tube 25 mm in diameter, placed between pole-tips of an electromagnet. Material to lie separated is passed through the tube; the strongly magnetic fraction is held by the magnetic field while the weakly magnetic material is washed down the tube.

Working principle for Small Magnetic Separator

XCGS 50 magnetic separator tube lies between the two ends of electromagnet, It is equipped with glass tube to reciprocate and swing. when the sorted samples pass the magnetic field, the magnetic parts get close to the tube wall. the non magnetic parts are discharged after washed away by water during mechanical movement.

Operating Process for Small Magnetic Separator

 

1. install and check the machine is in good condition

2. prepare a 1 litre glass cup.

3. add 20 gram mineral power with 500ml water, and small amount of alcohol, mixing it and place it at least 5 minute.

4. set the magnetic intensity as requirement.

5. use the clip to close the small hose, put one basin under the hose mouth, then start the machine.

6. add water to the glass tube until the water over the magnet head about 50mm.

7. add the mixture into the tube.

8. open the clip, so the non-magnetic powder will go with the water, and the magnetic mineral stay in the tube.

9. add water little by little from the top of the tube until all the non-magnetic powder go away.
